Several months ago I determined that I should join the ranks of Chictopians, Fashion Twitpickers, and Outfit Instagrammers.  I thought it would be great to show what I wear on a near to daily basis in order to encourage other moms that they can dress well every day – they deserve to dress well every day!

I failed.  It’s okay.

First of all, how do these women do it??  Who is around all the time willing to take sweet, fancy, whimsical, and inspiring photos of them?  I tell you what I’ve got – a 4 year old, a 6 year old, and a full length mirror.  I run my business by myself – not even an assistant or creatively inclined intern to snap my “outfit of the day”.  I don’t wear fancy labels, I don’t get sent free designer duds, I wear the best clothes I can afford in the best way I can.  Every day.

So, I’ll keep snapping the random photos of great fitting room finds and the occasional mirror image but I’m sad to say, it’s just not in the cards for me to rise to greatness on Chictopia.  I LOVE the posers – I LOVE them.  Don’t get me wrong!  I just don’t have time to be one.  Real women providing each other real time, real life inspiration is a BEAUTIFUL thing.  I’d love to have a page on my blog of real women with style that I shoot while out and about, strangers and friends who inspire me.  Maybe I can make that happen.  :)

For now, I’m concentrating on the #truelifemoment – a much more accurate portrayal of my life.  You can follow me on Instagram to see more @commoncouture.
